Revenim cu detalii privind Ambasadorul Argentinei la Bucuresti despre care am scris in ultima saptamina din iunie. Va informam atunci ca dl Ambasador, Excelenta Sa, Felipe Alvarez de Toledo, ne-a ofensat si lezat suveranitatea si demnitatea nationala semnind, impreuna cu alti 30 de ambasadori acreditati la Bucuresti, o Declaratie Comuna in sprijinul „Marsului Diversitatii” din mai. [Lista: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgia, Brazilia, Canada, Chile, Cipru, Cehia, Danemarca, Estonia, Finlanda, Franța, Germania, Irlanda, Italia, Israel, Mexic, Olanda, Noua Zeelandă, Norvegia, Portugalia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spania, Suedia, Elveția, Regatul Unit al Marii Britanii și al Irlandei de Nord, Statele Unite ale Americii, Uruguay și Comisia Europeană] De atunci ne-am continuat demersurile pe linga Ambasada Argentinei la Bucuresti si Ministerul Afacerilor Externe al Argentinei cerind, in mod cuviincios, ca dl Ambasador sa-si retraga semnatura, iar Argentina sa nu se mai alature unor astfel de demersuri si sa se abtina de la lezarea suveranitatii nostre nationale. Din nefericire, Ambasada Argentinei si Ministrul de Externe din Buenos Aires au ignorat demersurile noastre. Au ales tacerea, dar noi am ales actiunea.
Multi dintre cititorii nostri au transmis mesaje de protest Ambasadei Argentinei si Ministerului Afacerilor Externe din Buenos Aires la indemnul nostru. Va suntem foarte recunoscatori si va asiguram ca actiunile dvs nu vor ramine fara rezultate. Intre timp, am lansat o Petitie de Demitere a Ambasadorului Argentinei la Bucuresti care a fost inregistrata la Ambasada Argentinei de la Bucuresti si in Ministerul Afacerilor Externe al Argentinei pe 15 august. Petitia a fost semnata de peste 100 de personalitati proeminente si organizatii neguvernamentale din Romania, diaspora si Republica Moldova. Impreuna, ele reprezinta o mare parte a societatii civile din Romania si a comunitatii romanesti internationale. Semnatarii sunt intelectuali, scriitori, avocati, ingineri, economisti, fosti parlamentari, jurnalisti, academicieni, si personalitati media. Multumim tuturor semnatarilor pentu semnaturile lor.
Am solicitat Ministerului de Afaceri Externe al Argentinei sa dea curs Petitiei pina pe 4 septembrie. In caz contrar vom continua demersurile insistind ca Argentina sa ne respecte demnitatea si suveranitatea nationala.

Intentionam sa retransmitem Petitia autoritatilor Argentinei in masura in care ajungem la un numar mai mare de semnatari. Solicitam adeziunea altor organizatii neguvernamentale, si intelectuali, scriitori, avocati, profesori, acedemicieni, ingineri, economisti, fosti ori curenti parlamentari, jurnalisti, personalitati media, lideri de comunitati, comentatori, si alte personalitati care impartasesc obiectivul nostru. PETITION TO RECALL THE HONORABLE FELIPE ALVAREZ DE TOLEDO, AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA TO BUCHAREST

Your Excellency: The undersigned are Romanian intellectuals, community and business leaders, leaders of various nongovernmental organizations, journalists, media personalities, current or former politicians, and influential persons in Romania. We address this Petition to you with utmost respect in the hope that you will consider the immediate recall of The Republic of Argentina’s current Ambassador to Romania, the Honorable Felipe Alvarez de Toledo. The grounds for the removal are serious and compelling.
In May, the Honorable Ambassador signed, along with ambassadors from a host of countries, a Declaration in support of the pride parade which took place in Bucharest on May 20, 2017. This unfortunate action on the part of the Argentine Ambassador is unacceptable at several levels.
First, the action of the Argentine Ambassador offended 25 million Romanians worldwide, primarily in Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Western Europe, and North America. It blotted our national dignity and undermined our national sovereignty. It accused the people of Romania, more or less directly, of homophobia and transphobia. This presumption is not only inaccurate, but utterly unwarranted. It amounts to impermissible stereotyping and stigmatizes all Romanians collectively as a nation. We are a deeply religious and traditional nation and request that our feelings be respected.
Second, we do not believe that it is the role of the Argentine Ambassador or of Argentina to pass judgment on the feelings or views citizens of other countries have with respect to various issues. The issue to which the Ambassador’s signature lent support in the Declaration is not black and white, but one on which fair minded people respectfully differ. By officially throwing his weight and the weight of Argentina behind the Declaration, the Ambassador and Argentina implicitly condemned those who dare express a different view on a highly moral and controversial issue. The role of an Ambassador is to connect states qua states, and communicate matters of mutual concern between them. It is not to lecture the people of a foreign nation in matters of morality and on which rational people differ.
Third, the signing of the Declaration conveys a position of superiority, implying that in this case the Ambassador or Argentina stand on higher moral ground and can, on account of this moral superiority, lecture the people of Romania. We believe that this is highly inappropriate and offensive. We are of the opinion that Argentina is not in a position to lecture Romania or the rest of the world in matters of human rights and tolerance. Argentina has enough problems of its own, including political corruption and human rights abuses, then be concerned with what goes on in Romania.
Fourth, the signing of the Declaration violates the 1963 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. The signature is incompatible, among others, with Article 3(e) of the Convention which limits an ambassador’s role to “promoting friendly relations between the sending State and the receiving State, and developing their economic, cultural and scientific relations.” The Argentine Ambassador’s conduct was unwise and violative of his clearly stated role under the Convention.
In closing, we have a plea to make and it is submitted respectfully. We are asking that Argentina recall His Excellency, Felipe Alvarez de Toledo as Ambassador to Romania, and that Argentina retract the Ambassador’s signature from the Declaration. Please also ensure that in the future Argentina refrains from taking positions or signing any Declarations or statements related to Romania’s internal affairs or pass judgment, either explicitly or implicitly, on the positions which its citizens take on matters of conscience and conviction. Romanians do not tell the Argentine people how to live their lives or pass judgment on the state of human rights in their country. Romanians expect no less from the Argentine people and its Ambassador.
We are aware that in recent months similar attempts were made by private means and neither the Ambassador nor your Ministry responded. We hope tangible action will soon ensue. We close by assuring your of our deep friendship and respect for the people of Argentina.

RAZBOIUL PSIHOLOGIC IMPOTRIVA ARTICOLULUI 48
Mass media romana continua razboiul psihologic impotriva Articolului 48. Ati observat, la fel ca noi, ca in doar ultima saptamina unele posturi de televiziune din Romania, cum ar fi TVR1, Digi 24 si B1, au organizat mese rotunde si dezbateri pe tema revizuirii Constitutiei, a Articolului 48, si a protejarii casatoriei si familiei in Constitutie. Probabil ati sesizat la fel ca noi absenta totala de la discutii a reprezentantilor Coalitiei pentru Familie. Lucrul acesta e inacceptabil si da dovada de lipsa de integritate de partea mass mediei romane. Nu poate exista o dezbatere onesta, profunda si completa a subiectului fara includerea in dezbateri a Coalitie pentru Familiei, mai ales cind moderatorul discutiilor e dl Remus Cernea ori invitatul principal dl Mircea Cartarescu.
Va rugam sa luati atitudine. Cum? Facind plingeri la CNA. Va rugam sa faceti sesizari in nume propriu cu privire la emisiunea România 9, din 9 august, ora 21.00, la TVR 1. Motivul sesizarii: lipsa prezentei in studio a initiatorilor demersului de revizuire constitutionala si afirmatiile calomnioase si denigratoare la adresa initiatorilor si sustinatorilor demersului, adica la adresa Coalitiei pentru Familie, si a dvs, a celor 3 milioane de semnatari ai petitiei de revizuire.
